Family Updates

I’ve been a little lax on the blog lately
(sorry Mom, Nichole, and Ash!)
So here are some of the exciting things
happening with our family.

Baby Bump
Week 20 (I’m now 23 weeks so this picture is a little late)

I’ll post another picture next week
when I’m at 24 weeks

Baby Kicks
Our little boy has been kicking for many weeks now.
Two weeks ago, I was in a meeting and he kicked
strong enough to feel it with my hand.
I got so emotional, I turned to the guy next to me
and exclaimed “My baby is kicking my hand!”
and then started to cry! Oh dear.

He is very active throughout the day
and becoming a stronger kicker.
Luckily, he doesn’t care if
you have your hand on my stomach,
or if your hand is warm or cold;
he keeps kicking.
Which is great for Gray,
who gets to feel him kick everyday
And yesterday, he was kicking so much
that we watched my stomach move
(sorry if that creeps you out Mike)

Baby Names
We haven’t decided on a name yet.
We still like the name Jackson
Graham also likes the name Ryker

Baby Room
I tried to break out of my neutral
color pallete for the baby’s room
We first painted the room using greens, then blues.
Now I know I can’t handle too much wall color
So we’ll paint the room
for the fourth time using neutral colors.
Pictures to come.

Just Like Marley
As a shout out to Gail
who recommended we see Marley and Me
Nigel had a very “Marley” moment last week.

The remaining piece of furniture from my college days
is the conventional college bean bag chair.

Gray and I got home from work to find that
I forgot to shut the door to the study.

This is what we found.

It was easy to identify the culprit,
as the Styrofoam balls were stuck to him
and he wouldn't look at us

But how can you stay mad at the puppies,
especially when you find them
cuddling together the next day.

The Case of Mr. Potato Head

Last weekend, I watched my niece Ellie
while Graham helped Sean move.

Ellie put together a very fancy-looking Mr. Potato Head
and set him on the living room table.
A few minutes later while doing the “crazy dance” (thanks Ashley)
she bumped the table causing Mr. Potato Head
to take a Humpty-Dumpty approach to life.

After looking at all the broken pieces on the floor, she said:

Ellie: Annie, you broke Mr. Potato Head!
Anne: No, that happened when you bumped the table.
A few seconds pause
Ellie: (with a slight smile) Graham did it.

With that innocent face I believed her.
Stop breaking Ellie’s toys, Graham!

Baby Video

We found out the sex of our baby
during the ultrasound on Tuesday

Graham and I both wanted a boy, so
we practiced a "happy-face" reaction
just in case.

But all that practicing was useless.
We are having a boy!

Now we need to decide:
Jackson James Weddick or
Stockton James Weddick

While we think about names,
enjoy watching the ultrasound video!

to know what you are seeing on the screen.
